Course Take-aways

Our world is filled with complexity and yet, in academics and theory, we constantly try to simplify things – to make the complex, less complex so we can plan an easier way to have a repeatable success. In such a competitive and time-starved world, the current problems facing traditional education have caused many people who thirst for greater knowledge to search for alternatives which are more convenient. The continually improving reputation of online education has clearly become one of the best alternatives of higher education. Personally, an offering of high-quality online education is a best way to learn new skills without the place and time constraints. This makes online learning a better and more efficient option especially for a person like me who needs to balance work and family commitments.

Online resources played an integral part of some of the research processes I had. The diversity and availability of the resources provided improve the quality of my research paper. The convenience of accessing databases easily such as library catalogs and journal articles helped me finish my research paper on time. However, online resources provide too much information; the vast amounts of information can be overwhelming. There is a need to sort all of this information and discriminate what is relevant and what is not. Hence, proper education and exposure to online learning and research is important to improve and preserve the advantages of online resources.

My interest in pre-analytical phase in clinical settings and giving the best of quality services to the patients makes me want to study blood extraction as one of the major causes of anxiety among them. The procedure is seemingly benign, yet patient’s anxiety related to the blood draw procedures is inimitable. My objective is to determine the factors of their anxiety and to gather relevant information of how to reduce patient discomfort.

Choosing to pursue a master’s degree takes initiative and commitment. I believe everything that is worth doing is worth over-doing. I know for certain that this path will be very personally and professionally rewarding. My persistence, determination and discipline will help me demonstrate success in a long term situation. Most importantly, my passion and will to deepen my education and experience is an investment that I will never regret. .
