A lesson design is the plan showing the type of instructional events, their order and the kind of activity taking place in each event. Relating the three components of instruction, it is initially important to engage the learners at the beginning of a lesson by giving them specific objective and goals of the lesson, at the same time, catching their interest and attention. The cognitive theory put forth that learning process is facilitated in gaining and maintaining the learner’s attention and to integrate the new schema of knowledge with the available schemata in prior knowledge. The summary and review ensure that the learner recalls the critical parts of the lesson and establish long term memory input. The immediate application of the new learning and realization of its importance will relate through real-life situations. As a medical practitioner, the course that I will teach will aid the learners to consider societal problems and to reflect on the world such as place of ethics in improving quality of life.
