Learning Theory
I believe that learners learn through a series of mental processing. In which enable them to acquire strategies to process the information. The role of an educator attains and maintains learners’ attention and give models of the strategies like mind mapping tools, mnemonics, audio-visual aids and summarization. My goal herewith is to change the mental behaviour of the learner by promoting acquisition, retention and recall of the information given. Cognitivism is therefore the learning theory that would suit best of my goal.
Instructional Theory
To ensure effective and systematic learning program as it gives structure to the lesson plans and a holistic view to the teaching, I am applying Gagne’s nine-step model. It is based on the information processing model of the mental events that occur when learners are presented with various stimuli. It is focused on the learning outcomes and how to arrange specific instructional events to achieve those outcomes
